D&G Supply - Carb Rebuild Review

I have an older-new engine that was built about 2005. It was pickled for use in an Aviat Pup. They discontinued the model and had a couple new engines left over that I purchased. My friend got one and I got the other. It finally got flying in 2020 and now I have 400 hours on it. I started having trouble with low fuel flow (11.1 gph) and higher EGT on 3&4 - with or without the backup fuel pump on. After discussion with several people much smarter than me I called Russ at D&G Supply. He said with the age of the carb it could need a rebuild. I sent it in and a few days later he called and said it "looked tired" and had the old style float. He recommended rebuilding it. One day later he called and said it was done with a new float and drilled out to allow 3% more fuel flow. One day delivery and today I have what looks like a new carb! I had to check the numbers to make sure it was the one I sent in.

I can recommend Russ and D&G Supply, Niles MI, for quick service and great communication. I hope to get it back on this week so I can get back in the air - if we ever get finished with winter here in Michigan!!
