Crotch straps

Crow’s “six point” system is an easy answer and in my experince so far, works pretty well to keep the harness system positioned on your body. It uses the existing attach points for the lap belt to attach the “crotch strap”, so no mods to the airplane. Worth checking out.
Is it part # 11154?

I don't think anyone is debating the value of crotch straps especially in a crash and has a side benefit of more secure in turbulence. The question is due to the different design of the 10's seat (This is in the RV-10 subforum) has anyone installed the harnesses Paul describes? How were the clearances between seat and tunnel which is already very tight for my Hookers belts? Throw in the seats need to slide to access the rear and further complicates the issue. I've probably inspected 50 10's between OSH, SNF and local fly ins and I have never seen crotch straps in a 10. These pics are obviously not from a 10. (But show a 6 pt harness as Paul describes)

Don’t shoot the messenger but this is Hookers response to my question.

“Attaching a 6-point crotch strap to the same attach points as the lap belt is problematic. It forces a twisting and bending load path throughout the system. The dynamic result in an accident is far from ideal.”

Anyone have any data to support or refute this ?

Thanks

Well if it’s so elementary and lots of 10 builders do it, then feel free to share the specific details that would help add to the thread rather than take it into the weeds.

Many builders already have crotch straps in the rear. The airframe has the mounts as designed already.
I built crotch straps in the front seats of my RV-10 build. I have the new seats and have not yet flown.
The pictures should give a good idea of my design which is to keep the seat belt from rising during a crash.
