Crossbow Nav 425EX-100 AHRS/GPS date issue

My Chelton/CrossBow system has recently begun incorrectly dating the flight data files. Several weeks ago it started date stamping the flight logs of the GRE EIS 6000 back to the year 2000! I did not catch this until I tried to upload my engine data to SavvyAnalysis and they would not upload and post to the website. I had a very great Savvy tech figure out what was going on and found that if every date stamp in each .dat file was replaced with the actual date of the flight, then they posted correctly. BTW, for quite a while I have been seeing wrong time stamps on those files that were uploaded and displayed. So now I have wrong date and times in my .dat log files, so this seems to be an issue with the Crossbow.

Has anyone see this issue with their CrossBow AHRS, and if so have you found a solution?

I had a similar issue with my AFS 3400s. There is a CMOS battery that died...requiring a trip back for repair.

Wow!!! I was almost 100% sure I was the last RV-10 with a Chelton system (mine from 2008).
Before my panel came out last month, my 2 Cheltons were working fine, but the CrossBow AHRS was not. Initially its failure mode started out generally in colder temps and it worked fine in the heat. But over about 3 months it went downhill and went into an intermittent failed mode. I spent many weeks trying to source a working unit. The two I found were not guaranteed to work, and did not. There’s no service available.

Hate to hear that about CrossBow AHRS as I really like the unit. What are you doing with your Chelton units that you are replacing? What were your failure indications with your CrossBow? Wonder if there is a different AHRS that will work with the Cheltons??

Well my intention was to put them and all the other Chelton related stuff like the smartmedia cards, plus the rest of the avionics up for sale. Haven’t gotten around to that yet.
The failure was showing the compass constantly rolling, and the artificial horizon constantly moving. Airspeed & altitude were of course unaffected. Not sure about an alternate AHRS - I think most people jumped off this ship years ago. It’s unfortunate - with a working AHRS, the Chelton system still holds its own with the latest stuff out there.
This was the last flight with the old panel.

Well, when you decide you want to sell your Cheltons, let me know. I have a couple of spares now but having a couple more would give me some peace of mind........but the crossbow issue has me worried. Last thing I want to do is put in a new EFIS......
