I'm moving hangars and selling off stuff that's collecting dust on the shelves. There will be more stuff in the future, but for now I've got a new short antenna for an artex 345 and a Flyboy Accessory cowl fitting tool.

The antenna is the shorter (14" p/n 110-773) of the two antennas that Artex approves for use with their 345 ELT. This is used, but in good shape. I'm old, but as my fuzzy memory recalls, this came out from under the dorsal fin of a Bonanza, so it's not been out in the rain or sun. Spruce sells these for around $400 bucks if you don't bundle them with the rest of the ELT package.

The Cowl tool is the big aluminum disk that bolts on the crank flange for positioning your cowl during initial fitment. Blake used to sell these for $350 or rent them for $100 a month. I kept this one long enough that I ended up owning it. They aren't on his website so I don't think they're available from him any more.

Antenna - $125 including shipping anywhere in the lower 48
Cowl tool- $200 including shipping anywhere in the lower 48

Buy the cowl fitting tool.

I have one (also used, that I paid more money for). There are cheaper ones and homemade ones. They don't compare. All aluminum construction and steel fasteners. The tool will pay for itself in time saved.

Is there any instructions for the cowl fitting tool? I like to see how helpful it can be compared to just using the prop with the spinner plate. I have not used them but I have installed cowls with the prop and it worked just fine.

Do as you like. Bought mine from Darryl Hudec (Grand Champion builder).

The plate is conveniently 1/4" thick. You only need to know the measurement you want to replicate and set the plate there. Mounting shaft has rudimentary longitudinal measurement markings.

The plate also has a plethora of consistent radius holes around it. I drilled and cleco'd through them to hold my cowl halves in place while I marked/cut the back sides.

Rocket cowls are probably don't come as close to final dims as RV cowls. Was very helpful and convinced it saved me a ton of time and frusration.

All that said, if you don't need it then you don't need it. I'll sell mine when there is zero chance that I'll ever build or know any future builders.

Edit = Not having the prop in the way is also nice.

Okay- I think both of these are spoken for. Stay tuned for more high quality garage sale specials, pending the next time I make it down to the hangar
