Hi everyone! I have been chasing a rattle in my RV 4, O360 Hartzel CS, when I pull power to come in for a landing, sounds like a tin can rattling. Full power and cruise do not hear it???? Checked exhaust pipes and not hitting cowling. Any othe suggestions??
Thanks!

Flaps down at that point, or still flaps up? I'm guessing this plane is new to you, or the issue recently surfaced. Tell the brain trust more details and also try some things like slip/skid loading the airframe, ect. Pulling power in mine rapidly will cause some backfire crackling, but that's not what you're describing.

You sure it is rattling and not popping from the exhaust?

If I had to guess, I'd say it's the canopy bouncing on the fuselage along the left side (not hinged).
I get a considerable rattle in my tip-up RV-6 from this at low idle speeds. Even with new seals that are considerably thicker than the old ones, once they're compressed for a few minutes the latches rattle at low engine speeds.
