Canopy gap on both sides

This is my first -4! Is this a normal fit for a -4 canopy? Both sides are equal in their respective gap space. Thanks for any input. Ricky.

I have gaps on my -4 and tip-over Rocket. Can’t say if they are as big or not, but both required appropriate thickness of weather stripping to seal them up.
Most of it was stacked under the angle so it seals to the fuselage side rails.
Use caution: stacking it on too thick will place stress on the hinge and latching mechanism.

I would say those are about normal. Look at most all pictures of the 4 and you will see they have some form of trim or weather striping to close that gap

Mine has just about that same gap.

Mine is similar, although there’s not a gap where the canopy skin overlaps the fuselage skin. I made a foam wedge cut from a 1” thick kneeling pad and bonded it to the canopy angle, works great.

Genius. Sounds more durable and denser than typical weather stripping that sacks out and has to be replaced.

There is a bend downward in the longeron per plans. Leaves a wedge shaped gap. I made wedges from wood, sealed ,painted and bonded to the longeron. I have a bulb seal on the canopy frame that seals it all tight.

Thanks! I’m glad to hear that. I didn’t notice it initially until I got it home. Thanks again.
