Canopy frame bending

Hi Folks,
I just finished the fiber glass work on my canopy in section 39. On page 39-02 the KAI ask to bend the frame by fluting, should it not be parallel. At the time I checked it both parallel as well as diagonal and found it to be exactly where it was supposed to be.
Now, with all the fiber glass work done I do have a somewhat hard time closing, because the little lids on the bottom aft end seem to be about 1/8” too far apart from each other. The canopy can still be closed OK, but it doesn’t snap right in. I initially considered that I didn’t grind the guide blocks on the roll bar enough.
Yesterday, I started with the seals and KAI 39-20 ask to check left and right side canopy frame for if the lower gaps exceed 1/4 inch or not. This is when I realized that, with the canopy down and locked, the complete right side is just a little above 1/4” while the left side is solid at 1/8”.

The KAI basically just instructs me to close the gap with an additional foam block (C-1219). This, however, would not solve the problem of the canopy being a little too wide. In the end, I think I should get my frame position right before closing the right gap for the seal.
So here is my question: Since I cannot “unflute” the frame, do you think I could still flute the canopy frame at the lower right fluting position acc. to the red box in 39-02 to make the canopy frame a 1/8” less wide in the aft part?
Build stage is an according to the picture attached.

Just if someone stumbles upon this thread: Fluting the frame acc. to 39-02 after the plexiglas is mounted and the fiber glass work is done, did little to nothing to narrowing the rear canopy. Since the right flute didn’t hurt either, I ended up fluting both sides for a symmetrical optical appearance.
