Can you install the upper forward fuselage after cabint top "quick build".

My 10 is a QB so the upper forward fuselage came assembled. I want to install the cabin top and leave the forward fuselage off. I've read the threads where folks leave the top skin off, no issue, but what about the entire assembly? I don't see any issue but thought I'd see if anyone has any advice.

Thanks!

I can confirm that this is not a problem to leave it off. Mine is not QB, but I have the same thing you do except that the skin isn't yet riveted to the upper forward fuselage. I have removed and temporarily re-installed it several times with and without the skin without issues.

The only thing you'll need to be careful about is:
  • You can't install the windshield until this is riveted in place (so I deferred that portion of the doors/transparencies section)
  • You can't final install the upper hinge pins (or Skybolts if you are using those) until this is riveted in place.

I did the same. Actually installed engine mount also. No issues except had to modify bucking bar to do 2 rivets at top bolts of mount when installing fuselage top.
