In general, follow the manual, understand every drawing and step before you begin. Deburr all the parts.

Dan, if you can get down to KTEW below Lansing, you can see a finished 14A, 9A, and a 9A under construction. One of us is there most days.

If it's a 7(A), yes. Manual has you assemble bulkheads first.
Follow the manual.

The manual is a good start pretty much through flipping the canoe. There is some critical thinking required afterwards based upon mods you wish to incorporate.
