Builders: check the harness wiring to the fuel pump connectors!

I wired up my fuel pumps to the WH-00133 harness today. While doing this I noticed that the red and black wires were swapped on one of the fuel pump connectors - see photo. This is not correct according to the harness schematic.

Running the fuel pump with reverse polarity might result in it running backwards if it is a simple brushed DC motor, or might wreck the controlling electronics if it is uses BLDC motors as my Andair fuel pump does.

Fortunately I was able to remove the pins from the housing using a pin removal tool, re-arm the barbs, then re-insert them the correct way round.

The fuel pumps are brush-type motors. And a friend of mine also had a the polarity reversed on his fuel pump connector, and this was back in 2021. It took sending them to Lockwood telling him they were ok to discover the problem. So if they’re still coming out reversed, sounds like Steinair needs to add a quality check.
