Baggage access covers

Things you learn on your first build… I Installed the AirWard baggage access covers over the steps. The covers are well made and the kit is complete, I recommend. I learned the access covers DO NOT allow you to remove the bolt in the step. The bolt is not located where it will come out through the cover opening. You can get to the bolt, loosen or tighten it, but you cannot get the bolt out. The bolt is too long and hits the bottom of the floor. I drilled a hole in the floor panel above the bolt, next to the access panel, to install/remove the bolt. Just thought I’d post what I learned.

I also removed my steps for paint recently.
Some careful measurement and I was able to drill access holes on the top and bottom.
Was relatively straightforward - easier than I thought it would be.
The holes in the baggage floor are right up against the baggage area internal side skin. Not laterally perfectly in line with the bolt but sufficient for removal.
The bottom holes now have a snap plug in them and coincide with a black paint stripe.
I’ll take some photos next time I’m out at the hangar and report the exact measurements in case anyone else needs in the future.
