Looking at adding a backup AV-30 and integrating with my Vizion 385 Autopilot.
I currently have a GNX375 and Aera 760 connected to the Vizion and have GPS Nav and GPSS functionality. If I connect the AV-30 RS232 TX Pin 5 out to pin 18 on the 385 it looks like I can send Altitude Select, Vertical Speed, and unslaved Magnetic heading (internal magnetometer) to the Vizion which I assume essentially set the AP parameters on the Vizion the same way you would if using the knob and buttons on the face of the Vizion.
I am assuming that if I use this AV-30 mode to fly vectors and set up for an approach once I activate the approach in the GNX375 it will take control of the AP (429 overides the RS232), is this correct?
Second question is If I use the AV-30 mode and then select a Direct To on the Aera 760, does this now override the track setting in the 385 coming from the AV-30 heading bug?
