Attachment to wing

Not to my RV-12, but we purchased one about 3 years ago and tried it on our Cirrus SR-22. It didn't work very well. The unit could never maintain a stable attitude indication, even after they said they found a problem and corrected it. IIRC, altitude, heading, etc., worked OK, but the horizon was unusable. We were able to return it for a full refund (less shipping costs.)

Our Cirrus has a noticeable vibration and I suspect that resonated with BOM, but it's just a theory w/o any real data to support.

Have you looked at the mounting requirements?

Was talking to a friend of mine flying one on his -7, and he reported being very happy.

I am not sure what the advantage would be over something like a Garmin GDL-50.

I have a friend that flies a BOM on his Aronca, but that is due to the lack of an electrical system.
