Any tips on taking delivery of an RV10 QB

I’m wondering how I’m going to get my QB fuselage off the truck . I’m assuming a lift gate won’t be any help. Do I need to rent a forklift?

Three people can pick up the tub. Bring gloves because you’ll probably be grabbing the spar with it’s relatively sharp edges.

Did you uncreate it in the truck?

I borrowed a pallet jack. When the driver put it on my driveway I easily moved the wings and the fuselage in the garage.

If Stewart Transport delivers it, and uses the same type of truck they used for my RV-14A QB fuse, they have a crane built into the trailer and can gently lower it onto some furniture dollies or a cradle of some sort.

I was planning on using a couple of furniture Dollie’s. My concern was being able to get it off the truck. I received my QB wings last week from XPO. They were no help as far as getting the crates off the truck. I ended up renting a U-Haul thinking maybe the lower height of the truck bed would be helpful. I ended up un-crating everything on the U-Haul and off-loading piece by piece.

These don’t come all crated up anymore or is that a choice? Just ordered QB 14 last week and my given preference is to have them crated… although maybe when they ship in a year I’ll have changed my mind.

Same here, my RV-10 QB fuse was delivered the same way. Driver set it on dollies. If not to late, request Stewart Transport although I believe there was a slight upcharge, if I'm not mistaken.

I use one of these carts from Harbor Freight to move things (including Vans' kits) from the bed of my truck into the hangar. It lifts up to the height of my tailgate. Drag the crate onto the cart and wheel it into the hangar. Not sure how big the QB fuselage is but this might work.

Fire the grill up, plenty of beer on ice, and invite your hangar buds over to help and be envious. Then feed ‘em afterwards.
