Any 4 or 8 owners in Ft. Lauderdale area?

Looking to rekindle my GA roots, 4 seems to be the best “bang for the buck” while I see how much time I’ll actually get to fly it. I would love to sit in one, and also bring the wife along and see how she fits/ feels sitting back there. I know the side by side RVs are much more comfortable, but I’m really trying to live out my tandem dreams and the plane will be 90% for me anyway. If we find ourselves using it a lot, I’ll end up upgrading to something more comfortable for the wife (she’s 5’11 by the way!).

The wife doesn’t have much experience at all in GA planes, we met later in life for that. So she may not love it and in that case I’ll fly the 4 and try my hand at building an 8.

If there’s any owners in my area that wouldn’t mind a little hangar tour it would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Gino Angella

if you want your wife to fly with you, get a 6/7. if you want to fly alone, get the 8. the 4 is too small. if you are flying for work and coming thru lax you are welcome to sit or fly in my 8

I'm 6' 1" and my wife is also 5'11", and she LOVES the -4. She has flown in a side by side also, and likes the elbow room of the tandem. She also likes it better for sightseeing and taking pictures, as there is little restriction of the field of view out the sides. As long as the -4 has the footwells put in it, height is not a problem. A flat floored RV-4 can have footwells installed easily, and I have made several sets for others. See photos for comparison and canopy clearance...A couple pics from our aerial wedding day.

So…..6’1” is that why you have in-ear headphones?!

I have a few team mates with 4’s and they barely fit.

Y’all look like you have an amazing time in that sport machine, congrats!

I have the in ears because of pure comfort. If you haven't tried them, you'll never know. I don't often wear hats, can't stand the head clamps, and the in ears are THE bomb. You don't even know they are on. Has zero to do with clearance. I flew with DC headsets for years until Halos.
