Anticipation! 😉

I don’t know why but Valkyrie is one of my favorite jobs. Going to be tuff to beat it.
I think you’ll like this one then…….😉

You and Grady did such an amazing job on the Val - it has held up well, both as a design and as a paint job!

Well…it’s happening! Long day yesterday ended with the big parts in primer - lots of little stuff needs priming yet (separately). Paint “booth” is simply a plastic wall to keep the dust “out” and the overspray “in” - there’s an RV-15 project on the other side of the plastic after all - can’t slow that down!

OK, here’s an inside tip - if you like to use Cad-Plates screws (we all went to Stainless decades ago because…”stainless”…. But now many of us are switching back because Cad-Plated are harder and don’t strip out or gall - as much), design gold into your paint scheme….. 😉

Hey Paul----since you and Louise build and paint so much, figure out a way to make a plastic partition with a garage door opener on a rail . Hit the button and whamo

Well the -15 isn’t going to fit through the 30’ wide shop door, so she’ll have to assemble and paint it in the hangar….much bigger tent I suspect!

“Definitely paint the circuit boards!”

I had a brief thread the other night that was asking about painting the FLyLED’s wingtip circuit boards. Paul at FlyLED’s answered my email within minutes, so I deleted the thread…but the answer was “paint ahead!” I used maskign tape on the flat LED modules and got a bottle of liquid latex masking from the hobby shop for the little round LED’s. Ten minutes of work, thirty minutes dry time, and then a quick shot of flat black over everything - the masking peeled right off after the paint dried. I like the results!

After the paint dried - two of the masking spots removed - easy!

Bottle of Liquid Latex masking from Michael’s - this would last a hundred years at the rate I used it!

Square LED’s could have easily been masked using the liquid latex, but I had already done them when I started on the little round LED’s
