Does anyone have experience with these folks? They come highly recommended for Continental Titan engines. I have a Titan XIO 360 9:1 compression 190hp very low time (185hrs) engine which has great compression, all 4 over 75#, but recent boroscope shows some scaly rust on underside of all valves and I may need to get the valves reworked. The engine sat idle for several years while the builder dealt with a heart issue.

They built my engine many years ago. They were fantastic in all regards. No recent experience with them.

I built my engine with them in 2009. Great experience. I recommend them for any engine work. They overhaul a great many certificated engines. Don’t think you can go wrong using them.

They built my IO-360 for my RV-8. Great people. They'll treat you right. I 100% recommend them. Yes, in Collinsville.

I had my engine built by them. The engine leaked and they hired a local person to fix the leak. The leak persisted so they offered to redo the engine. I dropped off the plane and picked it in a few weeks. Zero leaks since then and about 1900 hrs on the engine.

Based on their customer service, I highly recommend. them. I will take the engine to them for overhaul when the time is right.

Thanks to all for the recommendations. Just talked with Steve over there and I'm sending over boroscope photos to him. I have great compressions on my Titan XIO 360 but the boroscope photos are pretty ugly underneath the valves. Just wanting 2nd opinions. Heres a link to the pictures. Feel free to chime in. Or maybe I should start a new post?

Yes good idea to start a new post to get VAF feedback on the valve and cylinder photos. I think they are probably OK, but I am not an expert like some others here and it would be good to ask for their input.

I am no expert but those look fine to me.

My aircraft came with a first-run Titan engine assemble by Americas Aircraft Engines in Oklahoma around 2007. At about 250 hours it was seeping oil in flight. After one of my Titan cylinders slung it's Nickel coating and cratered I shipped the engine to Barrett Precision for a full TDI and new cylinders. When Barrett disassembled it they found the case halves fretting due to improper torquing. It was all the machine shop could do to machine the faying surfaces down within limits.

I’m not an expert, but that looks like normal buildup to me. I wish my two engines looked that good, but I do have 1000 hours on them. I would definitely get an expert opinion before doing any maintenance on the engine. You might want to look at the services Savvy Aviation provides.
