My hangar neighbor spotted this while I had my -9A’s cowling off. A primer line had snapped! The break was in the middle of some coils fashioned for strain relief. No idea how many times I’ve sprayed fuel under the cowling before starting…. Luckily I never need to prime before a hot start.
I had a break like that a year or two into the life of my RV-8….had never used the primer system (except to test it), so removed the whole thing and never looked back….
I started a left engine fire with this same condition one cold early morning during start of a Piper Seminole years ago. Copper tends to easily work harden over time/vibration/movement.
