Fierce February here in the North East. Winter storms rolling one after another. Snow and snow and more snow every week. Flying conditions are very unique but there is some GA activity even during this harsh winter. Couple stoic RVators decided to go to Alton Bay B18 for their annual Winter Carnival. I had another plan and was about to launch in opposite direction to VA but somebody persuaded me to go his way
Idling for about 10 minutes at my home base Princeton Airport 39N. Airport owners are doing excellent job clearing miles of runway and taxiway for a single Russian to depart. You don't see the plough on the runway but it's there. Moving with a speed of light.
And there is a second one.
Ready to roll.
Picking up the Persuador at a Class Charlie airport on Long Island NY. From here I will sleep all the way to Alton Bay. He will manipulate and do all the rest. Here he is - an Army Spetsnaz.
We flew to Hartford KHFD to pick up Agent Orange. His airport was in worse shape. We waited in subzero temps for about 15 minutes. The wait paid off.
So I was all set. I had a lead who knows where to go and I had a PIC who can follow that lead.
I snored for an hour or so...
