Alternative to Conventional "Grease Plates"

A simple (and less messy) alternative to the conventional "grease plate" system, is to use two pieces of UHMW (or other "slick" composites"). I use two 1/4" sheets, backed by 1/2" plywood. Put the UHMW face to face for (effectively) the same result as grease plates - but no mess!

YMMV - But I've been doing this for a long time, and it works ...

Even easier is to find plastic sheeting (trash bag material etc) and cut a dozen or so pieces 14"x14" and put between 12" square 3/4" plywood plates. Six sheets each plate assy.
