Akzo shelf life

I just ordered some Akzo from spruce and was surprised it had a a mfg dat of 1/22. 13 months seemed like a long time especially coming from a company like spruce. I would have figured 6 months or so but 13 seemed kinda crappy for the cost of it. Is this normal?
