Aircraft Extras Oil Level Sensor

First I'm extremely happy with this product but I wanted to share something interesting. I normally run my oil level at 6 quarts when I start the engine initially my oil level stays at 6 quarts. When in flight at full power the oil level drops to around 4.5 and then returns to 6 quarts once the engine is shutdown again. I'm not sure if anybody has ever measured this but it seems that roughly 1.5 quarts is sucked out of the pan and running in the system while at full power. Engine is a Lycoming O-360.

Very happy with the product overall

That explains the Lycoming's minimum qty in Sump of 2 quarts. Any less and it's going to pull air into pressurized oil passages and disrupt lubrication cycle. may be..
