Air vent with the RV8 fastback

The wings of the panel are pretty narrow with the gussets for the fastback in place. I see messages about putting the vent under the panel on the left side. Any pics or advice on that?

Here is where I put my air vent. You can also see where I moved the heater vent forward to the left gear tower.

Aircraft engravers made the placards. They are adhesive and the switch nuts hold them down too.

So don't put it in the panel. This one blows across the footwell, and ventilates the cockpit every bit as well as a pair of dinky eyeballs. No real duct loss, so huge flow.

BTW, many of the eyeball vents don't seal well in the winter. So where to get a high precision machined air valve? Cut down a 50mm throttle body.
