Air box drain holes

What sized drain hole in the air box (outside the filter ring). I drilled the recommended hole size in the build plans but recently I read an article someone recommending 3/8 inch. A larger hole to drain water makes sense, but would there be a negative. I have the standard air box set up. Doing my condition right now and figured I might enlarge the hole a bit.

1/4" is fine. 3/8" is a little big.

A larger hole to drain water makes sense, but would there be a negative.

The air intake is very efficient, and will slightly pressurize the air box in flight. Make the hole too big and you’ll lose that boost.

Thanks. Got caught in a couple decent rain storms lately and started wondering if the hole in the air box was enough to eliminate any water build up.
