Aerocruz100 - „prossesing error“

D-EVRV7mübi

I'm New Here
Dear all,
yesterday the display of my Aerocruz100 autopilot showed „prossesing error“ on the display right after powering up. The failure is permanent and I wonder what might be the reason.

I retrofitted the controlhead in exchange of a TruTrak digiflightIVs, that had a display failure. The new controlhead worked fine until I installed the ap - level button according to the wiring drawings. I had one flight with the new level button where I could only use bank angle and track mode but not GPS- mode. (Area760 on pin 17).
(Firmware on AerocruzPV.40)

Does anyone have an idea ?
Best regards
Jan

I had a similar error on my TT Vizion 385(same autopilot) also v40, and it was due to a roll servo stepper motor failure, you could feel the notchiness of the servo when moving the aileron. Obvious other suggestion is to disconnect the level button from pins 1 & 2 and see if anything changes, also check for bent pins in the DB25 connector.

Jan, you say the error is permanent. Maybe you mean persistent? To the point made by Fig, if you undo the last thing you did does the error go away? Further, if you had a failure in the previous head and now you have errors here, maybe time to look at the inputs/connections, including voltages to make sure this head doesn’t get damaged.
Pull everything off. Apply power alone and then start adding back in, double checking each pinout.

Good luck.

Thank you for the helpful information. Did you exactly the same message on the display? Was your. controlhead damaged or did it work again after solving the problem with the servo motor?

Thank you for your helpful reply. My old controlhead had a display error. The content on the display was fading out on some parts of the display. This is a problem that may result from the installation of the level button. At first I will try to find out, if the the controlhead is damaged or not. I think I will decouple the DSub25 plug and give power to the controlhead to see whats happening. Jsn

I got a similar processing error message, sent both the servo and the head to midcontinent, the servo was toast and I think caused a surge which impacted the head, fortunately the head was still under warranty.
