Did you read the whole article? It mentions power steepening as well as flattening. And the Mason referenced advice is specific to too late to recover and too late or unable to get out. Context matters.
Point is the flattening itself is irrelevant. You can flatten a spin without power, and flattening the spin should NEVER be the goal. It's purely the application of power which can possibly be a beneficial last ditch effort whether you're spinning in the direction that gets flatter with power or the direction that gets more nose down with power. I don't want people reading this thinking spin recovery characteristics improve as a spin flattens.

Nobody said such. Read the article. Don’t put words in my mouth (or keyboard).

You wrote this exact line, "...if you can’t recover it and can’t get out, flatten it out."

I'd suggest leaving the link to the article if you want, but deleting the above statement, or editing to "power it out" instead of flatten it out.

I did leave the link in the original comment but here you go again,

As for the quote, you are misapplying it. It is discussing if you cannot recover and cannot bail. It says nothing about recovery procedure.

Nope

I understood this perfectly clearly from the beginning, but you seem to fail to understand the point about there being ZERO significance to flattening the spin, and that it's 100% propwash effect over the tail in this worst case scenario.

Hopefully others reading this caught on and won't be misled.

Zero significance? Which would you rather hit with low four figure VVI or high four possibly five figure VVI?
