Access panel

Has anyone added an access panel on the left side of the forward baggage area?

If you mean for maintenance access, yes. This is mine (also on my flying 8 and very handy.

I am claiming ignorance here because I'm not to this building point yet, but, what is behind this panel that would make maintenance easier ? Sure does look nice !

Just keep in mind that the skin is considered primary structure and carries a significant portion of the airframe load.

Not on the left side of the forward baggage area but one bay aft. Not my idea but a previous poster’s, but I intend to add one on each side for access to avionics/electrical.

This and also consider that it is one more leak point added to the airframe as well as adding weight. Everything is a compromise.
