8 Month Delay- Are You kidding me????

We just got notification today that critical parts of our Powerplant kit (being delivered this Monday) are back-ordered until April of 2026.
That’s 8 months!!!!!
Do I have any options other than sit and wait? Can I try to source missing items elsewhere. Have any of you dealt with similar delays? We thought we would be flying by year-end
 
Interesting as I will be receiving my fuse kit (RV9) and the rudder pedals are backorder until April 2026.

Not an option if you are building E-LSA. If you're building E-AB, you could try sourcing out.
 
Does this mean you're losing 8 months of the engine warranty due to a backorder? I'm not sure they thought this all the way through.

I’ve already lost 8 months of warranty, based on unavailability of the radiator. My engine was delivered at the end of December, and they are still unable to say when the radiators will be available (I was told at OSH that the issue now is production of the new mounting kit).
 
Does anyone want to buy a mostly-completed RV-12iS kit? This is frustrating. It's not even like the kit is an amazing value anymore......
 
Chill for a bit. My experience building an RV in a timely matter was you had will it to happen. I bet you’ll get a mount between VAF and Vans if you really need it. Be proactive and plan around it.

I know. We had just geared up to put in extra hours once the engine arrived. I hope the avionics don't arrive missing all the wiring !
 
Don’t worry. Be happy. It’s incredible undertaking to finish a plane. More people summit Mount Everest every year than complete RV’s
