Anybody know why this would not solve the fitment of the 12iS air cleaner being squashed? It is 3/16 in thick and fits under the FF-00120 after match drilling the 4 mounting holes.

I did the same thing but used 1/8 rubber, I don't think 1/16 is enough.

I would want any such spacer to be made of material that had zero chance of deteriorating and breaking - because any pieces or particles will be ingested.

The gasket made is mounted "outside" or "before" the air filter, see post 1 and 3 pictures. By making the filter fit as it should, and not crushing it, the risk of ingesting foreign material is actually reduced because the filter is not deformed. If the added gasket broke down, the effect would be a loose filter flopping around on the end of a SCAT tube.

I printed one of these using high temp, flame resistant filament (thanks for the .stl file, Ken!). Perfect fit, and resolved the “squashed filter” problem.

I bought a 1 square foot of 3/16 red silicone rubber and cut out the gasket. seems to work as expected. took about 15 minutes to make.

I got a 12”x12”x3/16” sheet of D70 neoprene on Amazon for less than $12.
