Hello group,

Is anyone able to share their weight and balance envelope for their -3? I have the empty weight and CG, and the arm distance for all stations, and the forward and aft cg limits. But I can’t figure out how to plot the envelope points on a graph.

Thanks

Hmmm…not quite sure what you;re askign for. If you have the forward and aft limits, the empty weight and the gross weight, you can plot the four corners on a graph as a rectangle. You have the stations for fuel, pilot, and baggage as well as the empty airplane CG…..what more do you need? Make sure that you are under Max Gross (as tested in Phase 1), and that your CG is between the forward and aft limit, and you’re good.

I'm not familiar with your aircraft but a typical weight and balance envelope will have a minimum of 4 points or, more typically, 6 points. Each point is defined as a pair of values one being the mass and the other the distance from the CG datum.

Once you have the data you can load it into a spreadsheet application and plot the envelope using the cg position column as the x range and the mass column as the y range. E.g. this set of cg/mass pairs -

produces this envelope -

Edit - there are really only 5 points in this example but the start is duplicated as the finish point.
