Have an older style Hartzell CS metal prop on my
IO-360 powered -4. Plane is nose heavy and looking to shave weight.

Wandering OSH26 with a credit card which is dangerous. Hartzell says their CF model is 18lbs lighter for a show special $22.9K.

Appreciate any comments on if that’s a decent deal or if there are other props I should
look at.

Interesting, WW is the same company. Reps on the field didn’t offer that when Iaskedfor their best options. They did suggest talking to Vans which I did and all the Vans people could offer is “check our website”, less than overwhelming support there.

May not be exactly the same but it helps confirm an upgrade of my old prop is now an absolute necessity. The furnace upgrade at the house will just have to wait 😁
 
$23K and a weight penalty to boot…☹️. I don’t know if Performance Propellers has a booth but I would talk with Daniel about having him custom build you a 15lb laminated maple FP prop that has amazing climb and cruise capabilities. I would guess the cost would be about 20% of what you are considering spending. His props are gorgeous.
 
I have a WW300 on IO360 RV-8. It weighs 36lbs with the supplied spinner which is why I went with it. It's been a great performing prop for the 140 hrs I have on it. The only downside is the 5 yr or 500 hr OH time. It was the lightest and least expensive when I bought it 1 1/2 years ago.
