I'm sealing the edge of some heat barrier with RTV. To try to keep it neat, I'm using painters tape to create a clean line.

After laying down an spreading the RTV, is it better to pull the painters tape right away while the RTV is uncured? Or is it better to wait until the RTV has cured to remove the tape?

Pull it while it's wet...if you let it cure, you'll end up with the masking tape stuck to the rtv

Remove tape before the RTV has cured.
