RV-15 Aileron Observations

Marc( or anyone else) did you do anything with the Aileron leading edge holes before dimpling them? I'm nervous about getting cracks. Thanks.
No issues here.

Why are you nervous about getting cracks from a dimple in the skin? There are thousands of dimples in pretty much all the other rvs…

I was getting some light cracks on my practice scrap material on the #8 holes. I did the deep dive here on VAF and found various techniques to avoid cracks on the larger holes, so I was curious what previous builders have experienced on the -15 Ailerons. Vans recommends drilling these holes to .166" in Section 5. I measured the holes in the Aileron and mine were .167 so that seems good.

Debur all holes and edges on all metal parts. Do that always and there would be nothing to be nervous about.
