Near-hit with a hand riveter

Working on my back riveting a cable guide to the belly, just one quick 6-4 rivet, what could go wrong? But I've had too many near-hits with my eyes so out of paranoia I put my safety glasses on, *SNAP* and Have you ever had the entire jaw assembly of a riveter come out and bounce off you? Missed my eyes, but not by much.

TIL, that there's a screw on top, inside the head that you need to check for looseness every so often.

Smart thinking, good for you. In the past I have suffered an eye injury requiring surgery and a long recovery... let me tell you, it is painful and no fun. As the surgeon told me: "Your cornea has the highest nerve density of any part of your body... yes, including that one." Now I'm extra careful about eye protection: any time I'm doing anything involving a system with energy in it (springs, power tools, even blowing shop air) or anything that creates dust, I make sure my Mark I Mod 2 eyeballs are covered! I'll definitely add the pop rivet puller to that list.
