Best place to park at OSH - First time at Oshkosh

No. There is free coffee every morning at the pavilion. They have electrical outlets there if you have to make your own coffee, tea or whatever. They have grills and griddles for cooking. No need to burn anything (grass, your neighbor’s tent or everyone’s plane) at your campsite.

That's assuming you can find an outlet that isn't being used to charge iPhones, camera batteries, and various & sundry other portable electrical devices. :)

That is absolutely incorrect. You can have a white gas or propane stove in the aircraft camping areas as long as you adhere to the safety rules. It's wood and charcoal open campfires that are prohibited. Grills, as well as electrical outlets and coffee, as mentioned, are available up at the HBC pavilion.

Long time ago I was under the wing of my N-40 parked aircraft drenched in AvGas fighting a stuck open tank drain when I heard someone walk up and say "hey, whatcha doin?"

Much to my horror he was puffing away on a cigarette that could have easily been the end of me and multiple nearby aircraft.

Moral of the story: just because you can have fire sources in airplane camping doesn't mean you should.

Of course. There are safety rules in place for a reason, but obviously you can't prevent Darwin from exercising his theory 100% of the time

Well, if someone pulls out their propane tank or white gas I will pack up and have to move elsewhere. Whether it is within the rules or not is not the point.
