Had starting problems 90 miles from home and found a crack in my skytek 149 nl starter housing. I have a cold air sump with forward facing injection servo. Has anyone put a b & c starter on an io360 with that sump and servo? I know there is a problem with the snorkel, but with modification can it work?

I've got a B&C starter on mine. Superior cold air sump. There will probably be snorkel work to do. I had to modify an airbox that I had built for clearance. Hope you can get home to work on it there. Maybe borrow a Skytec? Don't know if you are nose or tailwheel. I hand propped a 6A once and never again.

When the starter failed on my -7 with IO-360 & electronic ignition, there was a very experienced, big guy that hand propped me to get home, I was impressed. Now I have that gear driven SkyTec inline starter. It took some fitting to get it to work with the snorkel and I replaced the firewall mounted solenoids at the same time. Works great now.
