8A with a second canopy crack. First one was stop drilled by the builder, but I need help with this one. Do I need a special drill bit?

Edit: I have stop drilled it successfully. Can anyone advise me on repair products?

The other one has a sticker over it after being stop drilled. Is this common practice?

I had a very similar crack on my 9A. Stop drilled, then did this:
Weld-on #4, and a small syringe w/ 28ga 1/4" needle. The solvent should wick into the crack when applied at the hole.
Finally, to fill the stop-drilled hole, I used Polyvance PlastiFix:

I would recommend experimenting with the PlastiFix on some scrap acrylic. It's a powder that you fill the hole with, then drip the special solvent into it to bond with the parent material. Electrical tape worked well for me on the back side to keep the powder in place, but your mileage may vary. Make sure to order the clear. It won't end up transparent, though.
