Avionic installation companies

A friend asked me for a recommendation for avionics installation and I referred him to VAF (he is a member and has a steam gauge -6). He got back to me that he couldn't find any and I know I've seen threads on who is a trusted installer, but, I can't find them either. Further, I was surprised there were avionic specific forums (GPS, ADS-B, EFIS, AP, etc.) but no general avionics forum. So, if someone would be kind enough to point me to the appropriate threads or just express your opinion on a great shop (we are in FL so SE would be better than Alaska!) I would appreciate it.

I have done an RV-9A, an RV-10, a Pietenpol, a Zenith 750, and I'm working on a Murphy Moose. I have used Dave Buckwalter with Avionics Systems in Leesburg, VA for all of the installs. I could not be happier. The work is neat. Dave picks of the phone for after sale advice/coaching. Additionally, he is very helpful with updates. I had one G3X panel go out, after it was out of warranty. Dave told me to send it to him, and I don't know what he did with Garmin, but I got a new G3X. I have been flying with Dave's work for 10 years and will continue to fly with him.
