14A Vetterman 4 into 2 exhaust clearance

Is this a normal bottom clearance as the exhaust exits the cowl area. As seen in photo, pipes are 1/2” under nose gear link assembly. I can take the heel of my hand and knock that pipe into the white assembly. Do others with this same exhaust have the same clearance ?

Mine is the same way. I bent the pipe down from the ball joint as much as I could, and then fixed the support bracket length. After that there is about 3/4" clearance. The pipe appears to have hit the nose gear cross bar a few times, based on the paint I see missing.

This is a random question, but does the Vetterman just have a single muff that feeds both heat vents?

ah, so its just like the van's setup where they are both on the copilots side?
Yes, but you can add another one on the pilot side and run two in series on the copilot side. (I wanted to ensure my wife stayed warm in Ohio winters but probably was overkill)

Two heat muffs on the RV14 is incredibly effective. Normally, I just barely crack one of the valves either the pilot or copilot, and it is plenty of heat for the whole cockpit. I suspect you could only have one heat muff, and it would get the job done.

Thanks everyone, just putting together a map of where a few extra things for SDS can fit on the firewall and knowing that the vett exhaust heat setup is much the same as the standard / EXP makes things easier.

The pic in the beginning of this thread helped but didn't put all the puzzle pieces together.

Same here. Interestingly though, our Vetterman kit came with shorter hangers that used the engine mount to attach.
