12 BAGGAGE UPGRADE KIT - Modifying the soft panel?

Once I installed the new baggage upgrade kit to allow easier tail access without removing the fuel tank, my soft cover that says "EXPERIMENTAL" no longer fits. Anyone know if Vans has a new cover for that or does anyone have a template for modifying and sewing up the existing?

What is the baggage upgrade kit? First I've heard of it.

Early RV-12s had a one piece rear baggage aluminum bulkhead panel. Later RV-12s replaced this single panel with a two-panel design that facilitated easier access to the inside of the tailcone (i.e., without having to remove the fuel tank). Van's offers (still?) a kit to replace the one-piece panel with a two-piece panel. However this conversion can be easily accomplished by modifying the original panel and adding a few brackets and screws/nut plates.

I've just removed the fuel tank to get into my tailcone, and it seems perverse putting the one piece bulkhead cover back.

I am UK based but I can work out a US > UK forwarding service if that's easier for you.
