Starlink Antenna

Has anyone successfully put a starlink antenna in an RV10
I know the antenna will not work thru metal
Maybe it works thru the fiberglass canopy?
Does it interfere with GPS signals if GPS antenna is on the roof?

Mine works fine in the baggage area on the starboard side. Between AeroSport overhead and side of baggage wall. Eventually will go in the tailcone. (ShowPlanes fiberglass fastback). GPS antennas not on the roof but does need to go through 2 layers of fg. (Vans cabin top and ShowPlanes tail cone)

In the baggage area easy to move to a different airframe (Or RV, boat) as needed. 18 awg into ships power has worked fine. (~5 ft) 14.0 V bus voltage.

Wingtip I've read also works well.

Thanks

Or run a wire and put in in the wingtip. Works well through that fiberglass, cabin wifi signal is strong, and less clutter in the cabin.

I put mine in my wingtip with some foam.

Derek,

Nice. Any chance you'd publish the file or give us a link to your 3D file?

Thanks,

Fred

Baggage area up against the ceiling works great. Not really in the way using Ball2Ball mount from the seatback crossbar and easily removed for alternative uses.

In order to give stabilized 30v power (I know it works with 12v but it really likes the higher voltage) and the ability to remotely turn it off and on (in case of any interference issues), I used a fused power booster and relay connected to the master relay output. Only $38. All I had to come up with was a switch for the panel and 22awg wire to ground.

So what’ is the main reason for installing this in your plane and what is the is the total weight penalty?
