Upgrading from Garmin GMC 305 to GMC 307 Legacy RV-12

Hello
I have a legacy RV-12 with Garmin avionics 2 screen G3X Touch PFD & MFD.
It has a GMC 305.
I just purchased a GMC307.
Can anyone direct me to the KAI section or page for doing the upgrade.
I remember the GMC 305 panel hole needs to be enlarged a bit to allow the 307.
Any hints or advice would be appreciated.
How hard is it to do?
John

The 307 uses the same connector as the 305, no wiring changes needed. The Garmin G3x install manual has the dimensions for the panel cutout which is the only difficult task. I had a gunsmith with a CNC enlarge my panel to the exact drawing.

I don’t know about this hole upgrade, but when we added the dynon control knob and autopilot modules to our RV-12, Vans had an aluminum template and I carefully cut out the openings using a drill, rotary tool with a cutting blade, and a raw hack saw blade. Shaving management is key, but I think it worked out fine.

Good luck!
