Help! - Marvel Carb MSA-4SPA stuck Power Jet Gasket

I swapped out my power jet nozzle with another one that was drilled to allow more fuel flow, and I thought I had lost the felt gasket (52) at its tip. Checked inside the carb which houses the nozzle section and I don't see anything.

I install the replacement nozzle with a new felt gasket. The copper safety gasket (52) will not seat securely as there seems to be something impeding the nozzle from descending further into its chamber.

I carefully remove the nozzle while looking to catch anything that will fall out from the nozzle chamber. Nothing. I look inside, and it is hard to tell if the gaskets are still there, however probing shows that there is likely several gaskets in there. I try removing them but they are deep in the nozzle well of the carb. I tried poking it, compressed air etc but I am at a loss on how to remove them.

Anybody come across this issue? Any advice? Thanks.

a dentle pick comes to mind. love those things and can't believe how often i use them.
Thanks Larry. I had tried poking in there with a thin wire the other day however I was afraid to cause damage there. The dental picks I have don't seem to be the right size, and I was afraid of poking with a steel thingy in there.

Success! If you are going to poke, go big or go home :-) I tried a long wood screw, and that allowed me to pull one of felt washers out. I then found a 3/32"x2" machine screw which is basically small enough to get in there, and large enough to capture the washer by its inner diameter. Pulled another 2 washers out. A visual check now confirms that they are all out, and a spritz of compressed air (blown into the mixture side) allowed to clear the nozzle housing of any felt/washer debris. See photo below. Onwards to putting the carb back together again.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
