I've got an RV6 with a a carbed O-360-A1A currently running what looks like the standard Vetterman Crossover exhaust (but it may not have been made by Vetterman). It cracked in 2022 about 270 hours ago at #1 Cyl flange and I had it welded at that time. It cracked in the same again spot yesterday, leaving me AOG about 50 miles south of Whitehorse, Yukon. I'm having it welded up again in Whitehorse and that should get me the 50 miles home. I believe the exhaust was made in 1992 and now has over 1,500 hours on it and maybe has just aged out and become brittle. So...I would like to replace it with the exact same set-up since I don't really want to rework the lower cowl, and the two cabin heat muffs, the carb heat muff and the hangers.
I've messaged Clint at Vetterman and they only produce the 4-pipe systems now, so I can't get a direct replacement crossover style exhaust from him.
Has anyone replaced their 2-pipe crossover system with a 4-pipe? How much work was it?
Are there any other firms making this old stye 2-pipe crossover still?
Does anyone currently building, have an unused Vetterman 2-pipe Crossover they'd be willing to part with in preference to a new 4 pipe system from Vetterman?
Here's a photo from when mine broke about 270 hours ago.
