Relocate Manual Pitch Trim knob from fuel selector area to left side of 9a ??

For an RV-9a I want to relocate the manual pitch control cable to get it off the fuel selector box. It would be great to have it along the pilot side wall below the vent. If I can not hear of a solution here, I will just cut it off and install electric trim.
Thank you,
John

So you can use your stick hand to trim?
You can locate it anywhere you want. But the stock cable is not long enough to mount near the vent unless you want the knob pointing up.

Wait... that might work!

Trying to picture the control ergonomics of placing the manual trim knob on left side wall.
My hands are busiest during take off & landing phases, left on the stick (flying) & right handling engine, prop, mixture, radios, & trim (& these are the busiest times for making trim adjustments), & what ever else…
Your proposed relocation of trim knob to left side would require a control stick hand switch (right hand moved to stick while left goes to the trim knob) during those critical phases of flight, complicating & potentially destabilizing your control inputs….

My vote is if you don’t like the knob in the center, go electric with switch either on the stick or close to the throttle.

My recollection is that it was the standard cable, but I did it more than 25 years ago so I could be wrong. Also mine is a -6 so YMMV.

The cable was long enough that I was able to relocate the knob to the left side in a vertical position. Love it!
