Howdy everyone! Friday, August 29, 2025 was the day Aerokat took flight for the first time! It was awesome! A million questions answered, new questions to look into and answer. Fantastic flight, the plane is great! (Long) Video on my YouTube channel. 20250829_194926.jpg1000013035.jpg20250829_201716.jpg

Not only did you build a beautiful plane, you documented every step along the way. Congratulations on your first flight and a successful phase 1.

Have been watching your YouTube build from the start, awesome work and fantastic result. Your videos were a massive help when building my RV9A so a huge thank you, hopefully you will continue to keep us updated with progress and any additions made to the RV7 as time goes by.

Congratulations! It is such a sweet payoff from those years of building.

Looks great, love the paint job.

Absolutely beautiful ship. Congratulations and well done.

And likes others have said, thank you thank you thank you for documenting so much of your build process. Building an 8, and your detailed documentation of your build was incredibly helpful.

Thank you all very much for the kind words. It was a 7.5 year build that paid off huge with this first flight. I have a TON of things to fix, check, research, learn, master, etc., etc. Very excited for the learning and enjoyment to come. (I am sure some set backs as well.)

The "paint" on Aerokat is mostly vinyl. Small items like tail tips, the black on the front of the cowling...those are paint.

The Pietenpol in the back of my hangar is for sale...pass the word if you guys may know someone interested.

First congrats on the first flight! It takes a lot of grit and determination to get one of these things up in the air. Second, I love your "paint" scheme as well. I like the polished leading edges particularly
