Any other RV-10'ers get this DM? Not much to the initial message but looking around I was able to find this website with some additional information. https://www.girlfliesworld.com/

With so many legal, financial, operational, etc. concerns I recommended she contact the AOPA, EAA and Van's Aircraft directly.

I’m reaching out to ask if you might know someone willing to loan an RV-10 for a world-record expedition. In 2026, I’ll be attempting an aviation first — to become the first woman to fly solo to all seven continents, including a crossing of the South Pole and the entire Antarctic continent.

For this project, I’m exploring options for an RV-10 and was wondering whether you, or someone you know, might be open to discussing a potential loan or rental of the aircraft for this historic expedition.

I’d be glad to share more details about the mission and the preparations already underway.

Looking forward to hearing from you,
Shannon

She states her RV-10 will have a "tailwheel dragger" for reduced drag, skis, and an "upgraded" 180HP engine, among many other things. More power to her, of course.

But, for those generous souls out there, I too would like to borrow your RV-10 for a while. Because "inspiration". I won't even modify it (that much).

The way I read this, the modifications she mentions were those on the RV-8 she mentioned in the blog. If it is indeed the -10 she's referring to, a good tech counselor would be helpful ...

But to answer your question, I do remember seeing something about this a few days (weeks?) ago. About the same time that stories began circulating about the other Asian lady allegedly attempting this. That one of course ended tragically, before it began.

Accessing the weblink from my company computer raised warning messages. Click with caution.

To clarify — I was just listing some of the RV-8 modifications another record holder used on their South Pole trip. HA! Tailwheel and 180 HP on an RV-10? Not happening. More like no tailwheel and 260 HP.

You’re absolutely right, i misinterpreted your web page. Best of luck to you in your attempt.
