Garmin - ADS-B Out Troubleshooting

SJVA Aviation

I'm New Here
I’m having a difficult with getting an ADS-B out reading.

Can someone please verify the correct setting under the transponder section in the configuration mode.

What should I have set up for the G3X under:

Position Integrity
RS-232 Port 2
RS-232 Port 3

Thank you!

Post your schematics please,

usually transponder format 1 works but no way to tell port assignment without wiring diagram.

See example below

A little more info would be helpful, which xpdr, GPS source, AHRS do you have?

Make sure you have the position integrity set to 1e-7. If you upgraded your software from an old version, or loaded Van's configuration file this may be set to VFR or Auto (can't remember exactly and I do t have access to my documents from home).

Beyond that make sure that the transponder RS232 #3 is set to ADS-B+

Now I’m being picked up on other pilots devices using a Sentry but ATC does not see me on ADS-B.

On the sentry it shows 1090 ADS-B

Should 1090 and UAT both be selected in the settings option?

Can you confirm that all of the configurations look like this? (my demo panel has a 45R, so ignore the type mismatch)

Yes. That’s identical to my set up. Thanks for posting that.
Roger, thanks for confirming. Have you gotten an ADS-B report to show what components are missing? Did you have your transponder certified before you flew (confirming its working properly)? Im not sure if the issue is the GPS output to the transponder, or the transponder output itself. figuring that out might be the key to doing solving this efficiently.

Shoot me a message at [email protected] or give me a call and we can talk through things more thoroughly.

Will do. Thanks

I have the same issue, SIL and SDA exceptions, with 100% fail on both.
I also have the vfr setup, not the ifr package.
I will try setting the position integrity to not “vfr gps”.

Yeah that should fix it for you.. its showing a non-ADSB compliant GPS.. so just set the integrity..

Also check you G3X version.. this "bug" seems to have been introduced in earlier versions of the G3X software 9.10 thru 9.13.
