Apply a little motor oil, KY jelly, or whatever you have at hand.

Tony_T Well Known Member Patron Aug 21, 2025 #4 To do this job correctly you should remove the hub before installing the tire and tube. Also your tube looks badly cracked around the stem area. From Matco manual and page 35 of plans: I don't use the valve stem washer and nut. YMMV
