Backup (second) electric fuel pump?

I'm New Here
Hi there,

I've taken responsibility for a -10 that, sadly, the builder and details of the build aren't with us any more. So there's an ongoing process of trying to figure things out regarding the aircraft build, instrumentation, etc. Any Australian RVers who might've helped in constructing a silver -10 in western NSW back around 2016, please get in touch!

In the meantime, the aircraft has a switch that appears to control a second electric fuel pump. The aircraft has an AFS avionics system, with the usual "Boost Pump" switch on the dash, which controls the, err, usual boost pump on an IO540 standard mechanical fuel injection installation. But there's a second (unlabelled) switch located on the tunnel, adjacent to the fuel valve, that seems to turn on/off another electric fuel pump. It is wired independently of the AFS system, and not mentioned in the POH.

Are such secondary electric fuel pumps common? I can't quite figure out the purpose: there's the usual mechanical engine pump, backed up by the "boost pump", backed up by another electric pump?

Appreciate any insights!
